CALEDONIA Motor Group has launched a major expansion programme to increase its dealership network. It has bought six sites in the northwest owned by United Northwest Co-operative, increasing its franchise points to 56 from a current level of 50.
The sites acquired, which were trading as Bellcharm Motor Company, cover Renault, in Warrington and Bolton, Mitsubishi in Swinton and Manchester, Citroen, in Crewe, and a used car site in Bolton. Further acquisitions are planned before the end of the year as the firm builds up its market coverage.
The buyouts follow a reorganisation of dealership coverage, which involved the sale of three Renault dealerships, in Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and Berkhampsted, to Bristol Street Holdings for an undisclosed sum at the end of June.
