AUTOMOTIVE parts supplier Unipart has launched a new mobile tyre company as part of its continued battle for more fleet business. The firm has joined forces with Quick Call Mobile Tyres, of Cambridge to form Unipart Mobile Tyres.
The aim is to provide a national service to take on other mobile tyre fit operations operated by the likes of Kwik-Fit Fleet and National Tyres and Autocare. It will offer the service through 100 franchised operators throughout the country and has already attracted 20 franchisees from the 2,300-strong network of Unipart Car Care Centres, which are independent owner-operated garages which use Unipart's central buying power to offer competitive prices.
The target, according to the new firm, is the fleet sector and independent motor traders and bodyshops which sub-contract their tyre fitting. Each franchise can source its own tyres, using Unipart Mobile Tyres buying and marketing power to build business in each area.
