THE AA has challenged rival breakdown and recovery companies to publish their performance records to back up speed-of-response claims. The challenge was thrown down after the Advertising Standards Authority upheld an AA objection to Green Flag adverts which claimed Green Flag was faster.
The ASA said there was insufficient evidence to say Green Flag was faster to respond to callouts. Now the AA has backed up its call for breakdown and recovery operators to publish their roadside performance records by releasing figures which show that it attended 2,013,176 breakdowns, reaching them in an average of 36 minutes, and achieving an 83.6% roadside repair rate.
