HONDA is poised to introduce a three-year/90,000-mile package on the new Accord range when it reaches the showrooms next month. This improved warranty will gradually replace the existing two-year unlimited mileage guarantee as other new products are introduced.

Aimed to complement lower running costs and residuals which are expected to be £500 ahead of the outgoing model, the move promises to give the new Accord line-up strong appeal in the corporate sector, according to Stephen Hollings, Honda UK's national corporate sales manager.

'This new car forms a key part of our growth and is already off to a flying start. We're holding hundreds of advance orders from corporate dealers and the three-year warranty will add to its appeal to business users,' he said. 'We know that tougher trading conditions have led many firms to look again at running costs - and we are confident many will be reassessing Honda as we bring well-priced, highly-specified quality products to the market.'
