THE new Vauxhall Astra made a solid auction debut at a special sale for 250 franchised Vauxhall dealers and approved buyers at Alton Towers held by CMA.

Nine of the new lower medium contenders went under the hammer, with a 2.0 LS Di five-door estate fetching £11,400, a 1.6 LSi five-door hatchback achieving £10,500, and a 1.6 8v Club five-door hatchback realising £10,250. The special sale saw 388 of the 470 cars sold for a conversion rate of 82.5% and a CAP clean average of 100%.
