AUDI has finalised pricing and specification for the 1999 A8 range. Scheduled for introduction in March, the line-up will feature more powerful and efficient five-valve V8 engines, suspension revisions for improved ride and handling, cosmetic enhancements and specification enhancements.

Prices start at £37,545 for the A8 2.8 and rise to £56,395 for the range-topping 4.2 quattro Sport. The previously front-wheel-drive A8 3.7 and 3.7 Sport will now be quattro four-wheel-drive models and will cost £46,545 and £49,094 respectively. The flagship of the A8 range, the S8 quattro will debut a short time after its A8 counterparts, incorporating the same changes. All variants of the range will have metallic paint, cruise control, a multi-function or Tiptronic steering wheel and Audi's new sideguard airbag system.
