The leasing and fleet management giant has offered alternative employment to all staff whose positions are being made redundant through site closures. The Leasecontracts sales team will now use GECFS's Slough offices as a base, one of three premises which will act as a focus for the group's business in future, along with its new corporate headquarters, due to open in Sale by the summer, and the 60-acre site of its subsidiary logistics company Pantech Vehicle Services in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire.
Managing director Jonathan Burr said: 'We have carried out extremely detailed reviews of all aspects of our business in the light of the current economic climate, the changes expected with the Euro, and our analysis of future service development. 'The various initiatives we are now taking early in 1999 will mean that we are in the strongest possible position to meet the expanding needs and expectations of the UK and European fleet markets in the near future.'
