A MAJOR shake-up has been announced at the board of RAC Holdings following the collapse of the sale of its motoring services division to Cendant Corporation. Sir Michael Angus, chairman of Whitbread and deputy chairman of Boots, has been appointed chairman of the board at RAC Holdings.
Former chairman Brian McGivern and the six other members of the RAC Holdings board have resigned. They are also members of the committee of the Royal Automobile Club - where McGivern continues as chairman - and the move separates the business side of the RAC from the Club. It was thought an overlap in membership between the two boards 'was no longer appropriate' as moves began towards flotation.
