VOLKSWAGEN has announced the pricing and specification details for its new Lupo supermini which goes on sale in the UK in April. It has three engine options - 1.0-litre, 1.4-litre 16-valve and a 1.7-litre direct injection diesel.

Standard specification on the range includes driver and passenger airbags, height adjustable three-spoke steering wheel, rev counter, and front and rear head restraints, plus a fully galvanised body. Only available as a three-door, Volkswagen expects to sell about 4,500 Lupos by the end of this year, with about 1,000 going into fleets. The German manufacturer says it is steering clear of rental and bodyshop fleets with the car.
