FIAT's 'greenest' car to date, the Seicento Citymatic, has gone on sale. It not only has a 'Budget-friendly' 900cc engine - the manufacturer will also plant five trees for each car sold to neutralise the carbon dioxide it emits during a typical year's use. The Citymatic is the only model in the Seicento range to have power steering as standard, and also an electronically controlled automatic clutch which enables gear changes to be made manually but without a clutch pedal.

At £7,119.58 on-the-road, it slots into the Seicento range below the top-of-the-range Sporting at £7,520.25, and the SX at £6,819.95. Standard specification includes seatbelt pretensioners, sunroof, central locking, electric front windows and body-coloured bumpers.
