AXUS UK has ploughed more than £500,000 into computer technology to provide customers with quicker quotations. It is part of a wider investment programme by Axus International to provide a fully integrated system throughout each of its operating countries - which include Belgium, Germany, Denmark, France, Finland, the Netherlands and Spain.

Money is being spent on a raft of changes instigated following the company's name change from Hertz Leasing . A spokesman said: 'We did not simply change our name. We took the opportunity to really examine our business and refine our offering.

'We have built on our track record as a leading total European fleet service management company, we have developed and started to introduce new systems and services and are now reaping the benefits. I am confident that this success will continue throughout 1999.'
