INITIAL demand for the Toyota Yaris - the manufacturer's new European small car which went on sale in the UK last month - has exceeded expectations.

Almost 51,000 vehicles have already been ordered (including 5,100 in the UK), making it second in the country-by-country demand table behind Italy.
