The rebranding is designed to help to unify and strengthen the various business streams within Lloyds UDT Motor Finance and to move away from operating two distinct brands in one market. Peter Hook, managing director, said: 'When Lloyds Bowmaker and UDT merged, we looked at the market and the proposed developments and timings of major changes with the then recently-merged Loyds and TSB banks.
'As a result, we decided to continue to operate both the Lloyds Bowmaker and UDT brands in the motor finance market for a limited period and link the launch of the new Lloyds UDT brand with the launch of the Lloyds TSB brand.' He stressed the significance of the rebranding as symbolic of the completion of the merger. 'These changes simplify our approach to the market. The new brand also underlines our link with the bank, representing our solidity and dependability as a company.'
