RENAULT, in the week it launches its heavily facelifted Laguna, has revealed plans for a similar makeover for its Scenic mini-MPV. On sale this autumn, the new compact MPV will feature a facelift to the exterior, including larger headlights, body-coloured moulded bumpers and redesigned tailgate and will have a new 95bhp 1.4-litre engine, a 110bhp 1.6 and a sporty 140bhp 2.0-litre.

A 1.9-litre, 105bhp direct injection turbodiesel will also be offered. The biggest change comes with the launch towards the end of the year of a Scenic 4x4 sport utility vehicle. Renault has also announced plans to launch a Kangoo MPV in the UK. It is due to arrive in showrooms in the autumn with prices expected to start at about £11,000 on-the-road.
