TANGRAM Computer Systems, a software supplier targeting the contract hire and daily rental industry, has been re-named Bynx UK as part of a major European expansion programme which includes the appointment of a new managing director. Chris Mottram will lead the push for sales among contract hire, fleet management and daily rental firms in the UK and Europe as managing director.

Bynx has been active in the UK for nearly three years supplying fleet management systems to the contract hire, fleet management and short term rental markets. It's main product is its Oracle-based WILLOW 2000 fleet management and about 250,000 vehicles are managed by the firm's systems in the UK.

Allen Fleet Services, which has launched its own daily rental operation, will go live in August with a £250,000 investment in Willow 2000 as part of an expansion drive and to improve service to the firm's 300 clients, including Caterpillar and Next.
