THRIFTY Car Rental has acquired BMG Rental from the Sanderson Bramall Motor Group for an undisclosed sum. The deal covers six rental locations in Milton Keynes, St Albans, Letchworth, Thame, Northampton and Peter-borough, and will see BMG's corporate business and operations staff transfer to Thrifty branches, while the BMG branches will be rebranded in Thrifty colours.
Sanderson Bramall bought BMG Rental in December 1997 as part of its takeover of the BMG Charles Sidney Group, and also owns a 37.5% stake in Thrifty. The deal takes Thrifty's network to 82 locations, with a target of 85 by the end of the year, and 1,000 by the end of 2000.
