RENAULT is poised to expand into the Asian car market after confirming it is negotiating to buy all or part of South Korea's Samsung Motors.
The French manufacturer, which last year bought a 36.8% stake in Nissan, said the acquisition 'would allow the Renault-Nissan alliance to achieve a broader base in Asia and in particular to acquire a privileged access to the Korean market'.
