AUDI will this month export 80 company cars from its German fleet to France in a pilot cross-border remarketing initiative, reports the September issue of Fleet News Europe. The cars are all Audi ex-management vehicles, and will be offered to Audi's French dealer network at a closed auction.

A spokesman for Audi in Ingolstadt, Germany said the company was using the sale as an experiment to see if it could achieve higher prices for its used cars in France.

Second quarter figures from eurocarprice.com indicate that an equivalently specified two year old Audi A4 1.8 has a residual value of €17,437 in France and €15,697 in Germany. Depreciation of this model is significantly lower in Germany, however, thanks to its lower original retail price of €22,124 compared to €30,962 in France.
