The company claims that RAC Trackstar is the most popular GPS/GSM stolen vehicle tracking product in the UK and has been adopted as standard fit on some Mitsubishi, Renault and Subaru models. Meanwhile, Fleetstar, launched last year in the UK and Germany, relays traffic information. Reporting results for the 12 months to December 31, 2000, chief executive David Martell said: 'Sales revenues in both these markets have doubled in each of the last three months over the previous month and an average of three new fleets are being added each day.'
Currently there are 4,000 Fleetstar users with the company claiming its 2001 sales target of 20,000 units in the UK and Germany 'looked conservative'. With Trafficmaster now containing three operating divisions - Digital Traffic Information Content (collection and dissemination of traffic information), Telematics Services Provision and Fleet Telematics and Tracking Services (Fleetstar and Trackstar) - three new fleet telematics products will be unveiled this year.
Martell said: 'Trafficmaster is leveraging off its market strengths in the digital traffic information market to provide innovative telematics solutions for fleets in the key European markets. We expect Fleetstar products to make a significant contribution to our revenue growth across Europe over the next 12 months.'
