PRESTIGE and sporting cars have been selling strongly at Top Car and Executive Car Sales around the country held by British Car Auctions. Attracting large crowds of buyers and competitive bidding in the auction hall, strong prices have been achieved.

They include a 1998 Bentley Arnage at 20,000 miles which sold for £68,500, a 1998 Mercedes SL60 AMG Convertible which sold for £51,100 at 22,000 miles and a 1995 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta which sold for £46,500. Other prices achieved include a 99T Porsche Boxster, 14,000 miles, £28,000; a 97R Mercedes-Benz SL320, 43,000 miles, £26,450; 00W Mercedes-Benz ML270, 5,000 miles, £30,000; 99R Mercedes-Benz SL280, 5,500 miles, £39,250; 95N Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, 22,500 miles, £34,000; 00W TVR Chimera, 6,500 miles, £22,600; 98S Lotus Elise, 9,500, £15,450; and 97R Jaguar XK8 Convertible, 76,000, £29,250.

With examples of BMW, Range Rover and Jaguar also selling strongly, BCA's director, of customer affairs Tom Madden said: 'With such specialist high value vehicles, the pre-sale marketing is critical to success.' BCA holds Top Car sales at the Blackbushe, Brighouse, Edinburgh, Measham and Nottingham auction centres, while Belle Vue Manchester stages a monthly Executive Car sale.
