BIRMINGHAM-based Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has taken delivery of 37 Citroen Xsara Picassos for use by its trainers, consultants and managers. The organisation's chief executive Dr John Hooper said that prior to placing the order, RoSPA carried out an extensive, five-strong vehicle assessment.

The assessment included primary and secondary safety considerations, key driver and passenger comfort elements and operational cost data. According to Hooper the Picasso delivered the optimum combination of safety, comfort and low wholelife costs required by RoSPA. The majority of the vehicles are 1.8 SX models and will cover about 60,000 miles while on the fleet.
