A NEW feature has been added to Fleetstar, Trafficmaster's vehicle tracking system, it was announced at the Fleet Show. Operators of the system will be able to obtain live traffic information on their PC's map screens fed by a live data link over the internet. The information is derived from Trafficmaster's network of sensors covering more than 8,000 miles of the UK's motorway and truck road network and augments the Trafficmaster Oracle information already available to drivers as a feature of Fleetstar package. Chris Haynes, Fleetstar UK chief executive said: 'Live traffic information adds an intelligent new dimension to fleet management. Operating to schedule is fundamental to reducing business running costs and, with the ability to monitor traffic problems, the operator can react very quickly to congestion.'
