FEWER than 1% of vehicles in the UK are equipped to run on gas, according to Government figures.
David Jamieson, parliamentary undersecretary at the Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions, said in a House of Commons answer that out of a total vehicle parc of more than 29 million, just 25,540 can run on either liquefied petroleum gas or compressed natural gas.
