THE most powerful Vauxhall convertible - the Astra Cabrio Turbo - made its first appearance at the Brussels International Motor Show.

A 2.0-litre ECOTEC engine that delivers 192bhp powers the top version. This means it can reach 0–62mph in eight seconds and has a top speed of 150mph. The car goes on sale in the UK in April.

Brussels also saw the debut of the Zafira 2.2 DTi. The 16v diesel engine gives a top speed of 116mph and 40.9mpg.

The manufacturer also unveiled a new version of its four-wheel drive Frontera - the Frontera Avenue. This new, long wheelbase version ditches the traditional rear-mounted spare wheel in a bid to boost the driver's rear view.
