May 2000: VOLVO, Ericsson and Telia have created the WirelessCar Corporation to develop and market mobile e-services to vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators. The venture - which has been given approval by the European Commission - plans to offer technology solutions that will connect vehicles to e-services such as roadside assistance, vehicle software management and access to the internet.
