THE GMB union has renewed its contract with Vauxhall MasterHire to supply cars for its 330-strong fleet.

The GMB, known as 'Britain's general union', represents workers in all industries and services, however large or small. It has signed a solus contract hire deal with MasterHire worth more than £5 million until 2005.

The union is based in Strathclyde, although the Vectras and Astras will be used by staff across the country, and are being supplied by Vauxhall dealer Lance Owen of Richmond.

Alex McMillar, of the GMB, said: 'We chose Vauxhall again because the company produces good quality vehicles that represent exceptional value for money.

'The four year contract has been renewed with Vauxhall MasterHire because we have been delighted with the levels of customer service offered and enjoy competitive monthly rentals.'
