NATIONAL glass repair firm Autoglass sent a fleet hit squad into northern England and Scotland after the worst storms in a decade swept the area.

The firm heard that fleets in the area were struggling to cope with damage caused to vehicle windscreens following severe gales and in response flew in extra fitting teams to cope with demand.

Support teams were also drafted in to answer phones in the customer contact centre.
