VOLVO has launched a ground-breaking flexible contract hire package offering company car drivers access to two cars for the cost of contract hiring a single vehicle.

The Volvo Combi Lease scheme is currently aimed at customers leasing the C70 Coupe or Convertible through Volvo Car Finance, but could be extended to other models in future.

As part of the monthly C70 lease payment, drivers have access to a V70 estate for up to four weeks per year during the life of their contract. The vehicle will be taken from Volvo's own demonstration fleet.

Hugh Reid, director of sales and dealer operations at Volvo Car UK, said: 'Company car drivers who opt for a sporty coupe or convertible are committed to the car for the life of the contract, which can be difficult when a bigger car is needed, such as over the Christmas period, or extra space is needed to take the family away on a summer holiday.

'Combi Lease offers drivers the best of worlds. Each Volvo C70 contract hire deal offered by Volvo Car Finance now includes the provision of this service, and at no extra cost.'

The V70 will be delivered to the customer free of charge and his or her own Volvo C70 will be taken away and stored during the exchange period. It will be delivered back to the driver on an agreed date.

Reid added: 'We have launched this package based on our own research which shows that drivers want more flexibility when they opt for a company car.

'If this scheme is successful we will look at extending it to other cars in the range.' Under the deal, the C70 driver can opt for a Volvo V70 for a maximum of four weeks during a 12-month period.

Each loan period must be for two lots of two weeks, or three weeks and one week, or one week and then three weeks.

The exchange must be arranged up to eight weeks in advance and will be supplied on a first come first served basis.
