CAR rental companies Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental are to serve corporate customers in Russia following the opening of a franchised site in Moscow.

It has been opened with Raiden Rent, the largest independent car rental operator in the Russian city. Parent company Dollar Thrifty also plans to open in St Petersburg early next year.

Richard Ault, Dollar Thrifty Europe managing director for European and sub-Saharan Africa franchising and development, said: ‘We are delighted to add Russia to our rapidly developing network. Our portfolio now covers Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and the Czech Republic, in addition to Russia.’
