Light van use in the UK rose by 12% over the third quarter of this year.

According to the Department for Transport’s National Statistics on Traffic in Great Britain, which includes data on vehicle type and road use for the third quarter of 2007, total traffic levels rose by 1.1% between the third quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2006.

Despite this growth in overall traffic levels, car use actually decreased by 1%, which gives a clear indication that it is commercial vehicle traffic that is increasing on the UK’s roads.
