Nexus Vehicle Rental has acquired the vehicle rental management arm of FMG Support.

The multi-million pound acquisition, backed by Isis Equity Partners, provides Nexus with a significant growth in its customer base, as well as complementing its market leading services.

Nexus is one of the UK’s largest rental broker companies and a pioneer of paperless rental trading through its IRIS system.

In March, the business was acquired by Isis in an £11 million management buy in/ buy out.

Chief executive, Neil McCrossan said: “This acquisition puts Nexus in a much stronger position in the vehicle rental marketplace, enabling us to continue to offer a high quality service to our customers, as well as ensure a steady flow of business for our suppliers.

"The acquisition is a perfect match as both businesses have the same high standards of customer service and support.

"We therefore aim to give existing FMG vehicle rental customers the confidence of a continued high quality service.”

Several members of FMG’s vehicle rental management business will be seconded to Nexus over the coming months.

FMG confirmed that there will be no redundancies as a result of the deal.
