How are you settling in?

How was your first day?
I hardly remember it, as my role barely changed. But everyone was very supportive.

How does your new role differ from your last job?
My role as operations director really didn’t change too much from my first European assignment – except the scope has been broadened.

What has been your greatest challenge in the role so far?
Communication is a huge challenge, which we tend to underestimate routinely. When you have one common language it is difficult. When you have six, it gets very challenging. Also, it has personally been challenging to juggle a heavy travel schedule and keep engaged with my family.

And your greatest achievement?
I would say I have managed to achieve a good balance in the job and home life, despite the schedule.

What is your favourite aspect of the job?
Watching people grow, develop, and understand what Manheim is about. We have done start-ups, acquisitions, and joint ventures bringing people together.
