Another British motor show has been cancelled – the second in days – after organisers of the Sexy Green Motor Show confirmed the week-long event will not be held in May as planned.

The news comes just days after the organisers of the Commercial Vehicle Show confirmed that it too was cancelled due to lack of manufacturer support.

Spokesman for the green motor show, which was due to be held at the Excel centre in London after two years at the Eden Project, confirmed this year’s show has been postponed until 2010 because of a lack of manufacturer uptake.

“Following industry-wide discussions, 2010 is expected to afford more favourable market conditions,” said the organiser’s statement.

“2010 gives car manufacturers, many of whom are yet to fully roll-out their low-emission range of vehicles, the opportunity to showcase their environmentally-focused model line up at a time when the UK car buyers are much more likely to buy new cars.”

Peter Stewart, communications director for The Eden Project, which is c-organiser of the show, added: “Timing is everything.”
