There is just a fortnight left for entries to the 2010 Fleet News Awards – the most influential and important awards in the fleet industry.

Companies running fewer than 50 vehicles – cars or vans – now stand a better chance of success in the Fleet News Awards after a reorganisation of the key fleet categories.

The awards previously had a lower threshold of up to 100 vehicles, but organisers Fleet News decided to make the change to better reflect UK fleet sizes.

Fleet News editor Stephen Briers said: “Many businesses run a handful of company cars or vans and they do an excellent job. However, we felt they were probably put off from entering a category of up to 100 vehicles because of the perception that the larger the fleet, the more professional the operation.

“Many of these smaller fleets will be run by a board director, such as finance of HR, rather than a fleet manager, and we want to recognise their qualities in running an efficient operation.”

The Fleet News Awards deadline is looming, so companies looking to put themselves forward should act quickly. They have until the end of November to get their enter forms in.
