Audi UK is attempting to increase its three-year
vehicle parc customers by offering a free MoT when owners register through its website.

In addition, all private customers running an approved used Audi that is more than three years old can choose to receive a discount of £50 off their next service and will also get MoT protection for free, which covers their car for up to £750 of repair work in the event of MoT failure.

This offer is also available to all private Audi drivers of cars over three years old who have historically used an Audi Centre for servicing, regardless of where they purchased their car.
An Audi spokesman said: “The three-year plus vehicle parc is growing rapidly and provides us with an opportunity for long-term customer retention.

“We are hoping to build on our existing relationship with our current customers and we are also hoping it will allow us to start a dialogue with those Audi owners who may have purchased their vehicle outside the network and are currently unknown to us.”

Audi wouldn’t say how many customers it was aiming to pull in through the offers, but said the scheme would be available until the end of this year.

Audi said it was still working collaboratively with its network on payment for the MoTs that come in, but wouldn’t say how much money each dealer would made from individual tests.

One Audi dealer said: “It’s proactive and a positive step to support customers and retailers alike.

“I would hope that other manufacturers follow Audi’s example and should be thinking of ways to help pull in more customers.”

In a separate step to entice more customers back to its franchised network, Audi is finalising details
for an online service booking system through its website, which should go live in April.

Customers will be able to book services at a location and time which is suitable to them, as well as specify additional checks or work that may be required, and to organise transport options such as courtesy cars, vehicle deliveries and collections.
