Smith Electric Vehicles revealed a new concept model at Geneva – a zero-emission Tourneo Connect.

The UK-based company has already developed a range of Ford-based commercial vehicles which are powered by electricity, the vast majority of which are used by fleets in the UK – notably Sainsbury’s and delivery giant TNT. Smith claims 5,000 electric vehicles are in operation among UK fleets.

The Tourneo Connect BEV Concept promises up to a 100-mile range, 70mph top speed and the ability to plug into the mains for recharging.

A full recharge will take between six and eight hours.
