Warranty Direct has confirmed that it will be adopting the Motor Industry Code of Practice for Vehicle Warranty Products when it is launched in July.

Motor Codes Limited has been created by the industry to oversee self-regulating codes of practice to ensure honest and fair service for the motoring consumer.

“There is a lot of concern from motorists about standards of service in the used car market,” said Duncan McClure Fisher, managing director of Warranty Direct.

“Thanks to our work and initiatives such as that of Motor Codes Limited, car warranties are now a mainstream product and we are delighted to subscribe to a Code that adds to the credibility of the warranty market.”

The Motor Industry Code of Practice for Vehicle Warranty Products safeguards consumer interests by helping them identify responsible providers and encourage the sector to raise and maintain a high standard of customer service.

The Code is currently progressing through the OFT Consumer Codes Approval Scheme.
