The UK's most reliable car is the Honda Accord, which has scored 99% in the 2009 Which? Car survey.

More than 84,000 motorists and reported on breakdowns, faults and niggles in the survey.

Japanese cars fared particularly well with seven cars in the new-car top 10.

The Honda Accord was top, with the second-place Honda Jazz receiving 98% and the Daihatsu Sirion third also with 98%.

The Hyundai i30 was in fourth place with 97% showed that Korean cars are now a force to be reckoned with.

The Ford Fiesta, came a creditable fifth with 96%.

Despite German cars' reputation for solidity, the Audi A5 was named the least dependable new car surveyed, with 76%.

Owners reported significant problems with its electrics.

Second from bottom was the Ford Galaxy with 76%, and the Jaguar XF did little better with 78%.

Electrical systems were one of the biggest problem areas identified in the survey.
