A scheme to improve residents’ parking and provide better public transport in Derby will be launched by the University of Derby and Derby City Council next month (September).

More than £200,000 from the university and council is to be invested in the project to establish a new bus service, residents' parking, pay-and-display bays and a park and ride service.

It is in response to resident concerns over the availability of parking space around the University’s new Arts, Design and Technology building, since it opened in September 2007.
