Alphabet has been appointed by Skandia to supply its multi-badge, user-chooser fleet of approximately 200 cars.

The contract marks a change of acquisition method by Skandia from outright purchase to contract purchase.

Alphabet modelled the relative financial impacts for Skandia of using contract purchase or continuing to outright purchase cars.

Alphabet also advised on structuring the choice list to take account of the cost implications of the new corporation tax rules.

Mark Sinclair, Alphabet director, said: "Skandia approached us, and a number of other suppliers, because they wanted to take a fresh look at their fleet processes in the light of tax changes - especially the reform of corporation tax.

"We expect to see more businesses following their lead and realigning their car fleet strategy in the light of the fundamental changes brought about by tax reform and other recent developments."
