Car manufacturers have largely done the legwork for fleets looking to lower their CO2 emissions, according to managers at the Fleet News round table discussion held with the RAC.

Green brands, such as Volkswagen’s BlueMotion, have captured the imagination of company car drivers, making it easier for fleet managers to introduce them on to choice lists.

Helena Oliver, group fleet manager at Building Product Design, has been replacing cars virtually on a like-for-like basis thanks to Volkswagen BlueMotion and Skoda Greenline models.

“The manufacturers have done 90% of the job for us,” she says.
