SMA Group has introduced a range of technological developments designed to improve the customer experience.

Simon Wells, project manager for the SMA Group, said: “We’ve spent a great deal of time getting the website right in terms of usability for all our customers.

“We wanted a site that reflected our expanding Group offerings not just in term of auction centre’s, but also delivering the right content and functions for our expanding services such as technical services, fleet sales and LiveBid.”

LiveBid is the Group’s live Internet bidding system that enables both vendors and buyers to view, bid and buy vehicles live from the auctions as they are happening.

Bob Anderson, CEO of the Group, said: “This is an important development for SMA Group and we will be holding all our auctions simultaneously on and off line before the year end.”

Anderson added: “With our Birmingham Auction Centre being currently developed and scheduled for opening by late summer that will give us the coverage we need in the Midlands. Then we are well placed to move into Southern England in 2011.”
