GE Capital Fleet Services has been named Leasing Company of the Year at the 2010 Fleet News awards.

GE Capital Fleet Services prides itself on how it has changed and evolved its business model over recent years. It is an evolution that has been born from the needs of its customers and ensures its continued focus on service, product and innovation.
This customer-driven agenda is typified by its iTools offering, which the company has invested £1.5 million in developing, as well as more than £750,000 in maintenance and support costs, in 2009 alone.

The range of online tools has been developed in partnership with its customers and includes iManage for analytics, trends and exceptions; iReport for fleet data manipulation and review; iQuote for real wholelife cost quotes and orders – including trade up/trade down; and iDrive, which acts as a driver information extranet portal for bespoke fleet policies and individual vehicle information.

However, it is GE’s Key Solutions methodology and team that have proved central to continually driving improvement across all aspects of customers’ fleets, ensuring they are kept up to date with the latest guidance, technology and legislation. The Key Solutions approach is to define, design, implement, review and measure. It has become global best practice within GE Fleet Services and in 2009 identified annual savings of £24 million across the fleets of its UK customers.

Judges’ comments
A very close call between the six finalists. The judges were won over by GE’s excellent testimonials and case studies as well as its initiatives. It provided details of clear cost savings, and a process which helps sell initiatives both to board directors and to drivers to ensure buy-in at both levels.
