John Lewis, the chief executive of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) will be speaking at the Aftersales Conference 2010 hosted by AM magazine, the sister publication of Fleet News.

He will speak on how franchise dealers can recapture significant fleet business that has been lost to independent service and vehicle maintenance providers.

He will talk about what key elements fleets look for in their providers and what steps you might need to take to capitalise on this opportunity.

Dealers and manufacturers are expecting the second half of this year to be very tough in the new car market and will be looking at aftersales as one way to help keep businesses profitable.

The AM Aftersales Conference 2010 has been created to help highlight the key issues and critical themes affecting aftersales this year.

AM is offering an early bird deal for delegates that book before March 26.

The one-day conference is being held at The Royal Berkshire Conference Centre at Madejski Stadium in Reading on April 22.

Steve Nash, president of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) will be chairing the event and the other speakers already confirmed include Steve Jellis, aftersales director at Mazda Motors UK and Simon Bowkett, managing director of Symco Training.
