The German domestic appliance company, Miele, has taken delivery of its first batch of an order for 70 new Volkswagen Transporters – making it one of the first companies to take delivery of the new Transporter following its launch in January.

The new Transporters were ordered as part of Miele’s ongoing vehicle replacement programme to update its fleet of 110 vans.

‘We required a fleet that was reliable and one that could meet the growing needs of our customers,’ said Tony Stephens, Miele fleet operations manager.

‘The Volkswagen van range has always been popular with our technicians, so we were very pleased to progress to the new and more refined Transporter. In addition to the quality and service we are delighted with the consistently strong resale values of the vehicles,’ he continued.

Simon Elliott, director of Volkswagen commercial vehicles, commented: ‘We’re very pleased to hear that the Transporter is so popular with Miele and the technicians that drive it every day. We’re sure that the steps forward in quality and refinement of the new models, combined with lower running costs, will also be much appreciated.’
