Avis UK has appointed eight new sales managers as the car rental company looks to significantly grow its B2B portfolio.

Reporting into business development director Chris Longmuir each sales manager will be responsible for identifying and securing new corporate clients in specific UK regions.

The newly created roles are part of Avis’ long term plan to maintain the double digit growth which the B2B business achieved in 2010.

Commenting on the new appointments, Anthony Ainsworth, commercial director at Avis UK, said: “This is a significant growth for our corporate division and reflects not only Avis’ success last year in the B2B sector, but our commitment to continuing, and hopefully increasing, it throughout 2011."

The announcement comes as the Business Travel Team also aims for growth in 2011 with the appointment of a new account manager, Paul Clark. Having spent two years in Avis’ SME Account Development team, Paul brings with him strong customer relationship experience which will be invaluable to his new role in the business travel sector.
