Senior management changes at Mazda Motors UK sees Steve Jelliss appointed fleet and remarketing director.

He moves across from the role of aftersales director which he has held for six years.

“Steve has a rich and varied background in the automotive industry which makes him the right man for this job, at this time,” said Jeremy Thomson, managing director of Mazda UK.

“His new position at Mazda will give Steve a tremendous opportunity to not only develop our growing fleet capabilities to the next level, but also to bring a great aftersales focus to the role, which is a key strength for Mazda and buying reason for our fleet customers.”

Jelliss’s appointment follows the promotion of previous fleet and remarketing director Peter Allibon to the role of sales director after the recent departure of Mark Cameron.

Before joining Mazda as CRM manager in 2004, Jelliss had worked at Ford (in the UK and Germany), Wunderman Europe (part of WPP), and in the UK telemarketing industry.

Now aged 55, Steve is keen on keeping fit and competes in both triathlon and cycling events; he also enjoys golf though admits he can’t match Allibon’s single-figure prowess.

On Allibon's move to sales director, Thomson added: “Peter was heavily involved in all aspects of dealer financing and in developing our successful PCP strategy.

“He has been a very active participant in dealer forums and dealer talk-backs and already worked closely with our finance, marketing and aftersales departments as part of his fleet role. Peter takes over the sales directorship at a challenging but very exciting time for the motor industry in the UK."
