The managed fleet Fleet Alliance has passed the 10,000 mark for the first time on the back of an adjustment in strategy to target the mid-size corporate fleet market plus greater uptake of its e-fleet fleet management system.
Fleet Alliance now has 10,075 vehicles under management, which would put it at number 20 by fleet size in the FN50 league table of leading contract hire and leasing companies, a growth rate of 17.5% year-on-year.
At the same time, the company has increased its regional sales network by three new staff members, as well as launching new products such as Fleet Repair, a new fleet repair service including a pre end-of-contract vehicle inspection in conjunction with the UK’s largest automotive repair group, Nationwide.
“We had a very strong sales year last year,” said Fleet Alliance managing director Martin Brown.
“This was down to a combination of factors, including our strategic decision to target the mid-size corporate sector, plus continued growth in our core SME market.
“We have also seen more clients introducing our e-fleet fleet management system and taking more vehicles from us, so that they can manage them all from one common platform.
“With our Flexi Hire rental solution, which also saw very strong growth last year, and new products like Fleet Repair, we feel that we have a more complete portfolio of products and services to offer our clients. And, in addition, we have a number of new initiatives planned for 2012.”
New staff joining the Fleet Alliance sales network in recent weeks include highly experienced sales consultant Tony Fryer, based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, who has over 20 years’ sales experience with motor manufacturers and a further 12 years in the contract hire and leasing industry.
Another new starter is Yaz Beattie, based in Edinburgh, who has 15 years’ experience with BMW, the last five as business development manager.
Meanwhile, Tom Fitzgerald has joined the company from the vehicle finance industry and will specialise in fleet management and vehicle finance for fleets of all sizes in the Home Counties area.
“These latest recruits are in line with our three-pronged approach to recruitment which includes appointing experienced people from within the industry and introducing new blood through our graduate trainee policy,” added Brown.
