24x7, the official private transport provider to London Stansted Airport, has purchased 87 Skoda Octavia GreenLine vehicles for its taxi transfer services for guests travelling to and from the bustling transport hub.

Trans City Skoda based in Walthamstow, has provided the company with 87 Octavia vehicles to add to its fleet, which will assist them with their energy efficient airport transfer service.

Vehicles used by the taxi service must be safe and practical, enabling drivers to transport their passengers to and from the airport in comfort. A large load capacity is particularly important, as passengers often have hefty luggage.

The team at 24x7 tested several vehicles from different manufacturers, and chose to make the investment in the Octavia model following positive feedback from staff who were impressed with how versatile and environmentally-friendly the model is.

Andy Mahoney, managing director for 24x7, said: “Our drivers clock up around 80,000 miles a year, so the impact on the pocket and the environment is key.

“We were really impressed with the vehicle’s stop/start engine, energy recovery system, fuel efficiency and economy performance.

“By switching to the Octavia GreenLine, we will make huge economy savings, in excess of £2,000 per car, per year.”
