G2M Technologies, the Leeds-based innovations company, has acquired a stake in LoneResQ, a lone worker protection solution created by Rapid Innovations, part of the GNP Group based in Bingley, West Yorkshire.

The two companies have formed a joint-venture company, G2M LoneResQ, to build upon the initial success of the LoneResQ product that is already used by many UK organisations.  These include Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services who used LoneResQ to assist rescuers in New Zealand following last year’s earthquake.

The system allows people who work on their own in potentially vulnerable situations to be remotely monitored to ensure they are safe and, in an emergency situation, gives them the ability to summon priority help from the police.

Employees can be monitored using LoneResQ’s own monitoring system or via an accredited high-security monitoring centre.

The LoneResQ application works on all mobile phones and smartphones so there is no need for users to carry a second device around with them.

“We identified lone worker protection as a rapidly expanding market that is being driven by health and safety legislation and good corporate practice in the UK and abroad,” said Andrew Tillman, founder of G2M Technologies.

“We spent a considerable amount of time identifying potential partners and searching for the best of breed solution only to find it just around the corner.

“Rapid Innovations have created a great solution which is proven in the field and ready to take to the wider market.  This makes it a perfect partner for G2M which was set up to assist technology businesses deliver volume sales.”

Peter Maddocks, director of Rapid Innovations said, “We have had a great initial response to the LoneResQ product and we believe that this joint venture with G2M will help us build quickly on our initial success and take the business to the next level.”
